release weights in stock at the tackle shack
Submitted by mako magic on Fri, 2009-10-02 09:50
With the new laws coming in and the need for every boat to carry a release weight the guys at the tackleshack have decided to make it easier and cheaper(therefore no excuse) to have one on each and every boat.
so we are going to continue to sell them at a super price.
20 oz weights...................................$9.00
40oz weights....................................$11.00
80oz weights....................................$16.50
also can get the big 120oz for the guys out deep, they are around $22.00 each
So dont be pay more than you should anywhere else.

thats a good price ill be up
thats a good price ill be up for one
mabe you could sell them with a handline with dacron or somthing cheap for a bit xtra that way its ready to go. the amount of boats ive been on and they say we have a relase weight but dont have anthing to attach it too
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

different juristriction mate
different juristriction mate would never happen.
its not a hard ask for any skipper who respects the fact that finally something is done with conservation and preserving fish stock. its the least someone can do.
hense why we are making no profit on this, its there to make it available at the cheapest price

DVD
Yep there is a free DVD but if you want to watch it now have a look in the Fishwrecked Tackle Bag on the right hand side under the random image and you will find a link to it as well. How to use a Release Weight
People need to get past the whole "they should give me one" and just get one.
These are being sold at cost price here to make sure everyone has access to them. At these prices they are not making anything from a sale and it even costs them to stock them.

There are still DVDs available from Recfishwest and some will be available at the Mandurah Boat Show next weekend, stand 100 near the Aquatank.
Good on the Tackle Shack for this great special offer.

Offer
Terry I dont believe this is a special offer.
This is their normal pricing for release weights and has been for as long as they have had them in the shop.

Sorry
Great for the Tackle Shack to "continue to sell them at a super price" then.
I rang this morning to say so, and to order one each of the big and biggest.
DVDs from Recfishwest 9246 3366. Ask Con and mention my name and Fishwrecked and the Tackle Shack.

120oz
Are you getting the 120oz model Terry?
I had the first one made and its a corker. I have added a ring to the bottom so I can add even more weight if needed.
Only problem was I had to get an electric reel to retrieve the thing as its so damn heavy now.

Does that mean the weights I ordered will be in Mon morning?
The video is available from the RFW website link http://www.recfishwest.org.au/ReleaseWeightDVD.htm
It's a balance between picture quality and download size, and both are reasonable.

great prices, we already
great prices, we already have a decent size one on our boat , only prob is we never get any fish to use it on. we have caught a couple of undersize dhuies but the were fighting fit and no need to use one, that idea of a hand line would be great or even if you have a winch on board use one of those

Will call in and get one
Matt,
Will call in and grab a 40 oz one one arvo during the week. Back in Perth tomorrow but depending on workload after being away may not be able to get there before the shop closes until later in the week. If you can put one away for me would be appreciated but if not will keep calling in till you have one available.

David

i heard a rumour that they
i heard a rumour that they are making it 1 release weight per person fishing on the boat?
not sure on whether this is true,
maybe if terry reads this he might be able to shed some light on the issue

Rumours, chinese whispers
With some of the stupid rumours being posted on some other fishing forums, need to know the source.
I haven't heard of that, and it hasn't been discussed to my knowledge, but personally I think 1 per person would not be necessary. Maybe more than 1 if there are say 4 or more people fishing on a boat.
