Repowering Question - Optimum HP

Wanted some thoughts on repowering the Old 18" Thunderbird

It's a heavy fibreglass and using the old 115 johnson and it picks up fine and planes but it guzzles fuel obviously

I like the look of the Suzuki 4 Stroke range but the burning question is which size?

I'd be happy with around 25 knots as long as it's not struggling and therefore guzzling excessive fuel

Does anyone have an idea on what would be better suited 90 or 115 from the suzuki DFa range (or new 4 strokes)

140a due to the weight of the boat?

What benefits would you get with the 140 over 90 or 115?

if you go the 140 suzuki, you would get better fuel ecconomy because the motor wont be overworked and the 115 suzuki weighs the same as the 140,plus there isnt much in price range, look up brett ward suzuki in pinjarra for the best prices in w,a,hope this answers part of your questions, also when i bought my suzuki a couple of years ago he was 2000 dollars cheaper than the main perth dealers...........

Pricey units, but considering the fuel consumption of the ancient outboard it'd end up being a saving in the long run
