Got my flathead!!! heehee~ only two more type of fish and my list will be done for 2009 (salmon and KG). or i can get greedy and start adding more now.. nah...

Thanks to all who have given me advice on type of lures and location. will be trying for more from different location.

bigger one was caught on SP(pink) and the smaller one on prawnstar juinor, went at 38cm and 33cm.

time caught was between 5-6.30pm. location is pt walter sand bar (west side). and i have to add.. there are more and bigger ones there. just that i am too amerture to get them. btw, this time i was using a 4lb main, black swiver, 12lb lead line about 2ft lenght. 3" pink sp or the blue prawnstar jr.

quick update, when back

Tue, 2009-02-10 10:11

quick update, when back there again this morning and caught myself another 5 of them. almost the same size. but this time the SP was not pink.. its silver body with pink tail. same 4lb main, black swiver and 12lb lead line about 2 feet in length. catch time between 7am to 8.30am. should be more if i would not have left.

BTW, all was release back swimming strong. not sure why but it just feels really good to see a fish u hooked and landed and still able to see it swim off strong. great start to the day. Laughing

there you go, SOI said it! soft plastic. still not to sure how it works as i am too new to this but its a inbetween to me. inbetween lures and bait. anyway.. two days of fishing and the blowies chew and tear up like 5 packs of soft plastics. tried hard body lures but no takers.

btw, guys! if anyone is looking for them small prawn star! i found tons of them. just give me a text or pm and i'll reply with location and price.

its a soft plastic lure used

its a soft plastic lure used instead of bait. they really do work and for the river snapbacks are preferred because of blowies but all of em work as long as there scented.

Yea the blowies do tear the SPs hard unfortunately. But I've used them on the flats, and they sure are effective against flatties.
