Hi All, Went out a couple of weeks ago and picked up a small Rankin Cod off Rotto in about 26 meters of water. Anyone else pick up a Rankin Local?

First I've heard of them this
First I've heard of them this far south. Haven't even heard of them at the Abrolhos which tends to be the most southern most northern species get usually.
Sure it wasn't a wirrah or some other kind of spotted or splotchy fish?

Saw an underwater pic from Augusta
A marine scientist sent me a pick of a juvi Rankin in Flinders Bay earlier in the year! Was definitely not a wirrah

makes you wonder how much
makes you wonder how much small models make their way down this far south? Surely they could be offspring from larger rankin in the metro area somewhere.
