I'm not confident the Eagles can beat the Hawks
was a great win last week, but you can't play like that for 3 quarters against Hawthorn.
The rest of the round is pretty straightforward, though I have gone for the Saints against Richmond as my roughie.

This year was never on without a top 4 finish and quite frankly we applied the lube ourselves for Sydney, Geelong and Adelaide and couldn't see us beating them away in the finals. It's next year I am now worried about.

So after making the Grandy last year, and with a pretty healthy list this year, missing the top four would be seen as a failure.
On the flip side, Crows struggle to back up after a showdown so you're a good chance in Adelaide next weekend. Top 4 could still be open.

Not sure if I'd call it a failure or a true reflection of where we're truely at, probably a bit of both. We caught the comp on the hop last year and overachieved with our list and I am on record stating at the start of the season we'd drop somewhere from 4-6. I also predicted Freo dropping 5-8 and Collingwood to finish top 2 so I can't claim to be a football genius.
We're not a one man team but we are a significantly better side with Nic Nat in it as we covers one of our main weakness areas which is the lack of hard bodied hulking mids to free up the other mids. Nic's best stats are the ones that don't show up on the gameday sheet. It's not so much Lycett I am concerned bout as cover as his development has been pretty solid this year, it's who will be covering Lycett as Giles just aint gonna cut the mustard. Guess we'll get a taste of what's to come over the next few weeks.
Would be a nice touch to bring Lobb home and replace one Black Duck with another for next season.

Off the top of my head, Jacko came back and won a B&F after doing his knee but he wasn't the same player as before. Kouta did a PCL or MCL and was never the same either.
If there's one player who coud mentally overcome an ACL it'd be Nic. I am going to cry the day he returns through the WAFL and has to pull on an East Perf jumper.

Top 4 possie for the finals was a must, though almost certainly won't happen unless results go our way, so it's looking like a big task unfortunately.
Agree with you frosty re how tough it is coming back after a serious knee injury. Here's hoping NicNat comes back just as good next year.

Fifth wont give us a second chance but it will give us a first up home final.
If it is against the Roos, then all we have to do is win the the ruck tap out & its game on.
Other teams know how to play against our ruck set up with Nic Nat, so maybe it will turn the tables a bit & mix it up for the Crows this week.
They wont know what to expect so we could be in with a chance.
Here's hoping.
