rusty trailer springs

advice sought on boat trailer - rust inhibitor , heard Inox is the way to go , does it work on an already rusty springs - hub axle , how often do you need to spray , or is it just a sales pitch ? any advice would be appreciated .

I always thought Fertan was the way to go
Ferric tannate.....converts rust to a black inert metal. However I stand to be corrected as there are far more knowledgeable people on here with expertise in that area

Ranex is another good one.
Ranex is another good one. Wire buff the rust off then use a paint brush to put it on. Will bubble for a while inhibiting the rust process. Prep it and then gal paint it.

As far as treating the rust
As far as treating the rust I have used fertan and ranex. Both do the job but can be very messy. Don't use it above your driveway if you want it to stay clear of stains . For prevention inox can be used but you will go through a fair amount of it . Best to just give the whole lot a very thorough hose down with fresh water after each time it's used.
