Sambo in 8 meters of water!

Dont really get the oppurtunity to go out on a boat that often but an old mate of mine who just had a knee reco has got into fishing and has a smallish boat, went between garden and carnac in 8 meters of water to try our luck and landed this Sambo!

From what i've heard seems to me like i've fluked catching a sambo this big in the sound and only being 8 meters of water!

Just wanted to know what everyones opinions were or if they have caught that kind of fish in 8 meters before in the sound?

Would have gone hard in 8m

Would have gone hard in 8m thats for sure.

If planning to release it, not ideal to hold it by the tail, but if keeping it for the esky all good!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Me and a mate came across a couple on sunday, landed 1 in roughly 3-5m of water, estimated at 15-20kg was quite large ha-ha, watched it 10m off boat take a live herring sitting on surface. got bricked by another one in same depth trolling live herring, 60lb Braid so weren't messing around. Awesome stuff to see in crystal clear water, watching both baits getting smashed. Back out this sunday for another crack,

Come across heaps in the shallows last few outings!!
