Hi fellas
I've been absolutely killing it on the Scorpion Cod lately. Probably the best eating fish out there. Anyone else cashing in on the hot bite at the mo???
Cheers
Rod

yeh have got a few big ones
out in deeper water but never tried them. Im guessing they are not part of the demersal catch is that right? how do you cook them just panfry fillets, cook whole?

Slabs
Yep. Get a decent meat cleaver, spines off in one hit, on ice then just process like normal. Most metrosexuals won't touch them so plenty around and top quality feed.

A google of Scorpion Cod comes up with a few different fish.
Do you have a pic of what you caught ?

Caught 3 decent size western
Caught 3 decent size western red scorpion fish last week, but they never come into the tinny after a really bad experience with a gurnard perch a few years ago, now any fish in that family can bugger right off!

Gurnard bastards
Yeah Gurnards are also a good feed but not worth a spine. Mark McGowan reckons he's gonna close the land/sea border in WA if there are any local Gurnard cases in 2022!
