Secondhand sounders

Gday,
Just got a new boat (woohoo!!!) and am looking to upgrade from my lowrance chirp 7", Now that ive learnt to read it it does the job under 40m but now im looking to fish a bit deeper and was wondering if furuno 585 is still a good option considering the technolgy these days?
budget would be $1500 (if I can keep it a secret from the missus cause she wont know what i sell my old boat for! wink wink).
Any information would be great! cheers

Jim I still run a 585, no
Jim I still run a 585, no need to upgrade as it does what I need it to do fantastic sounders. 587 as above would be a great buy.

Yeh mate, i have read so
Yeh mate, i have read so many good things over the years about furuno especially on fishwrecked. I vaguely remember someone on here saying the 585 was better than the 587. Im searching to see if I can find the reason. Could possibly be the bottom discrimination function??

Jim a P66 would be fine
Jim a P66 would be fine 20-70m , but I went a 1kw TM260 to get better readings at depth. Especially when we hit 100m.

I think I’ll go the 1kw just
I think I’ll go the 1kw just for a confidence booster in deeper water. I have heard the p66 is fine until the real deep stuff but it’s good to have more grunt than you need! Cheers
anyone got a 1kw tm260 for sale?
