My best guess looks to be a bronze whaler. Fisheries WA has a field guide for identifying different sharks this may help.

Not a bronzie

If you check your fisheries field guide on page 14 it will show that the dorsal fin on a bronze whaler starts just in front of the back of its pectoral fins and now check out the bottom of page 6 of the same guide and you will see that the dorsal fin on a tawny nurse shark starts well back behind the pectoral fins.

Is that an eye

Is that an eye of the shark down at the bottom left hand side of the photo ? If so that (to me) is a hell of a size shark to have what appears to be a small dorsal fin. I have no idea what type of shark it is all I can say is you want to be thankful it got of at the side of the boat and you didn't have to work out how to let it go
