Shimano Tranx

Just saw the new Tranx reel on Shimano's website, they're just a big baitcaster really, and look pretty good on paper.

My guess is the PG model would make a great demersal jigger.

Does anyone know when they will be on the shelves and at what price?

Gotta get me one of them!

Would make a good small-mid range jigger, especially the high ratio one.

Have heard rumours that the level wind on them has been struggling under max drag. Keep an eye on them because I dont think it will take shimano long to iron it out. Definitely on Santas list..

To be honest I was a bit shocked when i read the max drag is 11kg, I dont know of any level wind that could hold up to that pressure.

Hey guys

I have been thinking about getting a Tranx for Dhuey fishing with bait and jigs. Just because I am lazy and like the idea of having a level wind.

Has anyone used a tranx?

Cheers
