I've taken some time to read through the full report drawn for the fish trawler's operation. It's actually extremely well managed. There take quantity is minimal in comparison to the surveyed biomass in the region in which it will be operating. It's a mid water trawl so no bycatch. Dolphins, fairy penguins, bottom destruction is a complete load of rubbish.

It's quota so not a single kilo over what was signed can be landed. No overfishing! It's managed. 

The trawler itself is tiny in comparison to our already existing boats. It just has the ability to process at sea. This in its self provides the ability to deliver a much higher quality product. 

Lastly the operater was more than willing to compromise but due to public misinformed outrage it's cost everybody thousands and mismanaged overseas overfishing plows ahead. While our own well managed fisheries are blamed by illinformed protesters. 

 Please read the report Roberta and if you would, watch "drawing the line" a short film that produces facts on the Australian commercial fisheries activities not the lies and reactional outbursts by green groups. You will be shocked!!

It definitely changed my mind 

On the flip side will it's entry be the things edge of the wedge. Like past examples ie west Africa. I highly doubt it! 

Pretty much anyone who is agaisnt the super trawler is in fact just a sheep listening to the media the greens oranganise. The only negative is that the other trawlers loose their jobs on the south coast, but in turn it ends up being 100% better for the enviroment overall in every possible way. The problem is no one who actaully knows all the facts on the ecosystem, the marine ecologies or the restrictions set in place for the trawler can make any sort of argument with out the greenies just having a cry and getting the naive public on their side.

Im glad some others have taken the time to look into it further as I refrained from commenting on this for a long time.
