I installed a ether cable thinking it's a plug and play but to no advail ... I have printed of the manuals for both reading though it tells me I have to name the fish finder .my Delamere is using the key board on the fishfinder where is the back button or the delete button as I have inputted some name and did it wrong . Help please .

Think you'll need an NMEA2K
Think you'll need an NMEA2K connection for that assuming the 2009 has NMEA connection.
Ethernet only replicates the screen I think.
Get a starter kit online and needs a power supply (small), not a big job.
Prob about $200 or so in parts, think I may have enough bits left over from my boat to do that?
Depending how far apart they are (and assuming thats all you want on the network) you'd need 2 short leads, a T piece and a power input.
If you can wait 2 weeks I'll check what I have, say $100 posted?
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Ethernet
On my two lowrance sounders with ethernet they share sounder pictures and all waypoint information.

Earthnet cable
I had the same setup and all you need is the earthnet cable with the yellow ends. Will allow you to mark on the sounder to give you GPS marks on the GPS if thats what you are chasing.

Thanks guys
I will run with the earthnet cable as all I want is what bouttime has mark the sounder and see it on the chart for GPS
