From my understanding it

From my understanding it needs up grading and the costs to do so are way up there. As it's a privately funded sites not a big company one it wouldn't be economically viable

 If the upgrades are like

Sat, 2026-01-03 07:45

If the upgrades are like what LCOOL site needed it was prohibitive and they couldn't keep all the years worth of infomation that had been gathered. Unfortunately I can see this site going the same way as the tecnology has made it hard to change or upgrade.

Such a friendly and useful site.Slow but strangely addictive, a bit like the Ashes used to be. There again, could alway ask BOM for advice on an upgrade...

It's a staple for me too. If Adam was to set up a pledge link or something I'd be happy to contribute some money. It says there are currently over 5,000 users online. If 10% contribute $10 there's over $5k straight away!

 There used to be something

Sat, 2026-01-03 17:50

There used to be something Dave as I donated quite some time ago, would be happy to do so again. It's the only traditional fishing website left here. Fck all that social media crap.

We have been a member on

Sat, 2026-01-03 18:54

We have been a member on fishwrecked since 2008. Plenty of info shared and times enjoyed. I keep using the sites to see what's going on in the fishing community.  Not a Facebook fan and for someone like me that is tech disadvantaged it suits me. Yeah a bit slow sometimes to log on but once on its a lot better.

Funny... coz I am on the facebook groups, but more for comedic value.  I wouldnt ever ask for advice, nor ever give it on FB.  I still come back here

In my experience the site

Sat, 2026-01-10 18:03

In my experience the site loads at normal speeds as long as you're logged out of your account. These days I'll just log in when I want to leave a comment but remain logged out the rest of the time

Horrible

Thu, 2026-01-15 19:08

Ive been battling with turning the site off for a while, it costs 3k a year to run and doesnt make anything - largely due to there being next to no bricks n mortar left and i always preferred to support local over web. That 3k is for a decent sized server, but theres so much data thats super ntensive and would require some decent coin to speed it up/upgrade.

We did tick over 20 years online last August and my love for the site isnt what it used to be, that combined with russian cyberbots running ddos scripts against the site that slow it down hugely are f*n frustrating.

If someone was interested in giving me an offer for the domain/data, then id consider it. Im sure there is value in the massive SEO profile, i just dont have the time, money or tech savvy to turn it back into its former glory.  Then theres our govt, posting a fish photo or enjoying a recreational pasttime is now a sin - time for the dictatorship to go! Forrestry, Farmers and now Fisherman = F**ked
