Snapper time

Hey guys (and gals),
Need a little help with targeting Snapper on the 3 mile. As a general rule, is it best being inside, on top or behind the reef?
Been sitting just inside or on the reef in 10-15m with little success so I'm obviously doing something wrong?

I fish more south around
I fish more south around cocburn....but have had best luck sitting just behind reef on sand with burley going on incoming tide, approaching high tide on sun down / up. My thinking the burley is being pushed through the reef.
The fish need to be in the area for this to work of coarse. I use to fish on top of the five with occasional fish but many lost rigs.
By no means a proven theroy but has given me some success.

if your out from hillarys
if your out from hillarys head south to hale road area look on sounder for broken reef set anchor so baits on sand are close to end of a bommie
very hit and miss tho either there on or there not
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.
