Submitted by Faulkner Family on Thu, 2008-05-29 17:59
Hi All well we are off to exmouth beging of July for two weeks and as my family , wife and all are die hard fisho's. Kids are 15 and 16 who love all aspects of the water and wild life
We thought it would be great to see the reefs etc under the water as well . I have aranged for an under water camara so was wondering if there is any where other than turquise bay we could go in safe water Boat or land based (23ft fibro boat) Not scuba Snorkling only
Also maybe where i can get some mud crab
Any help would be great
Thanks
Russ

Snorkeling
Anywhere around the Murion Islands are good for snorkeling, just be wary of the currents as they can make it hard going and dangerous. Anywhere around Turquoise is good, Oyster Stacks, Osprey Bay etc. Theres also quite a few spots in the gulf around the marina, but they take some time to suss out.
As for mudcrabs, if I told ya I'd have to kill ya. :) Sorry.
Cheers,
Adam

Russ, Did some dives around
Russ,
Did some dives around the north island..... Very good! We dove 8 metres to 18 metres but I think you could go in shallower and they would still be world class.

Snorkelling at Exmouth
I have returned from Exmouth just recently with the family and would HIGHLY recommend
1. Turquise Bay-Drift Loop
2. Oyster stacks
3. Mildura wreck
Anywhere south of the national park entrance
I took scuba, but it wasn't deep enough for shore dives. Viz was mostly outstanding. The Mildure wreck is for more experienced snorkellers.
I would love to come and show you if you like. Mrs and Kids would also like to come, got room for us all??????????
