The last few times I have

The last few times I have been there I have seen very little caught at all, almost nothing from the jetty end. I have been fishing the base of the jetty for silver bream in the shallows which has been great, most are undersized with a few coming close to being size and are great fun on the light rod. Even then though, I seem to be the only one that was pulling anything up. I have probably put in 10-15 hours in the last two weeks so nothing crazy, all evening and into the night but have since been at bicton baths which has proven to be a little better.

Pt Walter jetty, just silver bream from the shallows around evening, nothing else. Loads of people prawning which kinda ruins fishing from the jetty.

Bicton Baths, small flathead, small flounder and again some almost sized bream all from the end. I do think there was a decent number of small whiting there on sunday late arvo/night (foul hooked a few) but I probably had too large of a hook to catch any. Only caught stuff casting far off the end into the deeper water and there does seem to be not a bad spot just to the west of the closest bouy on the north side of the jetty for bream, probably a dumped shopping trolley (there also was plenty of line snagged and floating from it which is a bit of a pita)

All that said. I am sure I am doing something wrong since everyone is raving about how good the river is fishing yet I struggle to get anything size.

I find that the harder to

I find that the harder to reach and lesser known places tend to be more successful when fishing, that's just my experience any way. Some will probably disagree with me but I tend to stay away from places that are easily accessible and commonly fished by people, I like my own little secret spots.
