So much for snapper size small

Last few days guys I know been getting 850 to 985 long pinks. I personally won’t chase them this year . But makes me wonder about results . And where they get them from. I do understand bringing ban forward. And agree . Extended area wrong .There already in numbers and spraying as you lift tthem. Tagging should be stopped also . Why upset them while doing there natural breeding cycle . Leave them . Not many hand in tags anyway.. plus heaps get lost to sharks. Just my thoughts

Yeah.I guess they got all
Yeah.
I guess they got all the info they needed thru tagging .
Now they just cruise around estimating fish quantities with the side scan

Watching from work
Fair few pinks got smashed by the looks. On surface in one area most the day. Not even full moon.

Didn't realise size of fish was brought up as an issue, first I've heard of it, I'm interested to see those findings If you have a link to that Johnny.

If fisheries want to protect
If fisheries want to protect breeders 100% then bring ban forward another month, end of July

Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Yeah. Perth Gamefishing Club
Yeah. Perth Gamefishing Club snapper Comp. Fish that big would of been worth a few grand worth of prizes.

Yeah mate, their whole
Yeah mate, their whole strategy is to allow fish size to get bigger.
Pretty sure they are happy with quantities etc, its just size they want to improve, apparently.

I thought the point of extending the ban was to protect the breeders as they've been coming in earlier in previous years

I guess that's their
I guess that's their intention. by not allowing any fishing during September in that zone.
I get that a lot have been taken this month also but I think it's good that the public can still get into them without doing shit loads of damage to the bigger breeders.hopefully it pays off and in 5 years we are seeing more of those 1m trophy fish.

Beau .big thing in there findings
Was about size . Not many fish near the meter mark. When spawning they taste like puss anyway. Thing that gets me is I thought snapper numbers where on increase . Most the fish that where poisoned or nuked ( Fryed gills)few years back where all big fish. Never seen algae bloom kill rock crabs of rock wall and everything from top fish to bottom fish . Within 2 ks of certain area of garden island.i do support ban if it helps by all means. Pretty soon we will only be able to fish 2 months a year. And triple our licence fees
