Soft plastic Friday
Submitted by pgreen1 on Sat, 2009-01-03 13:09
Since the wind gods were kind yesterday we managed a trip SW of rotto in the 70's to some new ground. Used the soft plastics most of the day. Queen snapper went 12 1/2lb.

Good work there, did you try just SP's by itself, if so how did you go?.....or was it tagged SP with bait like in the top picture?

The queenie was by its self
The queenie was by its self but when things slowed I used the Tag. The plastic is always a good back up when the pickers are around

use!
Daryl, you can use a patternoster rig with 5 inch snapbacks rigged on a Gamakatsu 6/0 "G lock worm" hooks with meduim gear in that depth. If you want to beef up the hooks for heavy gear in that depth (come here gear) then you can use the TT jigheads with "heavy wire" hooks or use the Maruto short shank s/s hooks also. I've used all types and vary them to suit the depth & fish i'm targetting!
