Hey guys.
for the new boat i am looking at sounders.
so far i am decided on a simrd nss evo3,
with 2 thru hull transducers,
a ss175hw, and ss175l.
it will be on a carribean 2300.
was wondering if anyone else has this setup, and their thoughts,
or if any other opinions? first time i have gone thru hull. o want to minimise amount of holes that get cut in the deck, so want it to be right the first time lol!
cheers
Goat.
ps majority of fishing for demersals in 20-100m. Looking to have option for deep drops. Some pelagic fishing, but less often.

What are you fishing for ?
What are you fishing for ? The high wide won't be the best at picking up demersals, a high would be better. It would be ok for tuna and other pelagics schooling.

I have fitted the SS175H and SS175L on my boat and it's great. I used the QME fairings over the Airmar supplied. They get the face of the transducer deeper in the water and the transducer seats in them a lot better than the ones supplied by Airmar. I have it set up to a fcv295
I would go the standard H if going with the low so you have the best of both worlds in beam angle

Hmm, good info. Hadn't considered the 175h. Was mainly going off what the guys in the shops said, but majority of fishing will be demersals.

Last year when I was shopping around the Daz marine over east was by far the cheapest I could find and great to deal with. marine-electronics.com.au

Interestingly enough when i posted this question on facebook, he made the effort to get back to me and give me some good advice. very helpful, and will definitely recommend him in future. given the boat is being set out new, i think all the equipment is sourced by the dealer, otherwise would buy through him.
