Spangled Emperor.

Hi guys,
Went out for a snapper sesh with good mate Dean (Dirt) on Friday night, we anchored up on one of our spots out between Garden and Carnac Islands, would like to say we killed it with the pinks but wasn't to be! Just a bloody big Wobby (released) and a big Tailor.
But the surprise catch by Dean was a Spangled Emperor that measured 42cm after a few photos we released it, we were a bit gob smacked that we brought a Spanglie to the boat in the Sound, will have to get him to post the pics.
How things are changing!

Nice catch mate and good
Nice catch mate and good stuff for letting it go. Just wondering, what's the water temp down there?

G'day Lastchance wasn't
G'day Lastchance wasn't really paying attention to the water temp as wasn't the skip but haven't really focus on the water temp when fishing for pinks in the Sound, but last time out in the same area last time in my boat it was reading 23 degrees on my sounder.

I didn't get a photo.
I didn't get a photo. Idiot.
But a young bloke on my boat out from Gracetown 2 weeks ago got 30cm spanglie in 45m.
I'm very very sure it was, I've caught plenty myself over time.
It was the orange dominant colouration.

I hope I haven't offended you De-Crais I'm just astounded that a spagno could be found in Cockburn sound, so what's going to turn up next ?

All Good.
All good meglodon, no offence taken, but yes agree with you it is pretty amazing the amount of different northern species that are turning up in our waters lately
