Just how many feel like me that this start to the AFL season is almost a bore with the staggered start. I just hate it.

On another note : Well done to Dustin Fletcher great achievement 38yrs old and 379 games ..too bad Tania Hird can’t keep her mouth shut on the eve of his milestone game .. Be interesting to see if Paul Smith and Essendon have had a gutful of the crap .

If you are the head of an organization and something goes wrong - YOU ware it. lots of CEO resign and take the blame when something goes wrong, because as the boss you SHOULD know what's going on. Hird still cry innocent but if it happened on his watch, he is guilty IMO.

All he has been punished for is poor governance, no doping violations nothing illegal. Hird isn't the head of the club, he is head coach, until he is charged with a doping violation and found guilty I see no reason to sack him. Until we hear from hird we don't know if he has been hard done by - and I assume he has been gagged as part of the sanctions he received so that's not going to happen any time soon.

by all accounts Hird was aware of what was going on at the club, if they have no records of what they were doing then he and many others are responsible, personally I wouldn't be surprised if they know more about what players were given than being let on, better to cop flack about non-governance than be labelled drugs cheats. I think the big D is in on it and its all brand protection and damage control/minimisation (both from Essendon and AFL)!! Used to be a Hird fan when he was a player but he has now lost my respect.

Its certainly a long wait
Its certainly a long wait when your teams plays awesomely sick to the power of rad well in the opening match and sits atop the laddr with a percentage of 252, only then to have to wait another two weeks to watch them play again. But on a postive note, 16 of them get to play for peel thunder in the wafl this weekend :)
