Hillarys is a black hole
Hillarys is a black hole mate. Caught a few squid and sand whiting but you throw out burley to get the herring on the boil and nothing ever comes
Officially off the Pies bandwagon

Put in the hours, can be
Put in the hours, can be productive at times of the year if you are in the know.
I have caught numerous decent bream, tarwhine, tailor, herring, skippy, snook, yakkas, huge rays, and small sharks.
This was over about 2 years since I lived close and didn't have much option to go many other spots. Now I only really fish Hillarys for light sessions on bream or rough weather in hope of a pinky or the likes but regularly fish the Floreat to Trigg stretch.

Fish inside the marina near
Fish inside the marina near the mouth on an incoming tide with light gear and plastics or blades if you use bait i find unweighted mulie cubes or prawns best as it sinks slowly, get a slow and steady burley trail going (mulie cubes and small berley pellets) persist through the blowies (not as active at night) and you'll have some fun on skippy ,bream, undersize pinkies and once there is a few bread and butter fish around if your lucky the line burners come around to see what its all about. Ive been fishing hillaries marina for years and it never stops amazing me how many fish are in there. I find it better when there is a good swell and some wind pumping it seems to fire everything up.
