Squid in the sound

 Hey guys

I've not fished Cockburn sound since I was a kid. Thinking of taking the kids squidding  tomorrow in the boat but just want a tip as to where to try. Parmelia bank side or more towards Rockingham.

Any help is appreciated as the squidding near my local ramp at hillarys can be pretty slow going.

Cheers

Inside Garden Island

We usually do well in between the navy base and the current ammunition jetty just in the shallows.

From 2-5mt. We got a few last week that went over 30cm cleaned on pure white jigs.

Inside garden might be your best bet, as the weather has stirred up the sound pretty bad, could not see the bottom in any part of parmelia bank yesterday

Or,   like I do with the grandkids.   Launch from Palm Beach boatramps, bit further to drive with car/trailer for you- but then it's only 5 mins to the weed banks. Anywhere around boat moorings in close,or along rockwall you will get squid. You can follow the rockwall all the way out to Garden Island, trying for squid as you go,beats bashing across Cockburn Sound to get to Garden Island.

If the breeze comes up,it's a comfortable boat ride back to boatramp.
