SQUID+window+3$
Submitted by zen on Wed, 2009-05-06 17:06
with a few spare hours today i shot out from woodies and picked up 10 nice size squid in 2hrs feeling happy with that i headed in,walked up to the car in the top carpark and thought i had left my drivers side window down, but no my window and 5 other car windows are laying on the ground smashed not happy i went over to an elderly couple on the other side of the carpark and asked if they saw anything, they said only 2 little kids on a small trail bike near the cars.they only took about 3$ in change.what i would"nt give for 60seconds with those two....

Stick though front
Stick though front wheel.....
The question is did they steal their trail bikes? Or more likely, were they given to them by their parents (meaning they're probably spoilt brats?)

Sorry for your bad luck
Sorry for your bad luck there chief but lucky for me as I was thinking f doing the exact same thing today and go for a squid and launch from woodies, saved me a side window. They need to see about fitting CCTV down there if this is happening so often if they can afford new ramps why cann't they fit camera's on top of the light poles at least they could put faces to these pricks

Yeah right wade both times I parked my car at hillary's it was broken into and they stole nothing on both occasions just cost me two windows. Ive never been back since. I stay south now no spoilt disrespectfull head up arse people down here. Dont think zen posted his comment 2 hear your meaning less crap. And zen sorry 2 hear that some little punks ruined such a good day .When i park my car at boat ramps over night i put a piece of ply wood with a few nails sticking out of it under my seat cover doesnt stop them breaking in but when they sit on your seat 2 go through your stuff they get a nasty suprise. Just remember 2 take it out before u sit down. Better still let youur mate go get the car good for a giggle.

disconnect the battery and place an electrified plate on your

Not far away is the trail
Not far away is the trail bike club, i have nearly colided with them driving near the launch,,they top up there fuel at the Woodys shop,,with fishermen being so careless it would not suprise me if folks left some treble hooks lying around the seat, lol
We need a volenteer forcelike sea rescue to watch over the area until cameras get installed.

Protecting the car from inside won't help (though it might punish in return :P). Some of them are just out to smash car windows just for the sake of it. :/

Apparently a bloke came in a woodie ramps last year
only to find he didn't have any wheels on his boat trailer. The woodies boat storage/shop apparently has put a cctv on their pole outside the shop, ZEN don't know if it reaches where you all were parked, try them they might have it on footage???Just a thought.

Every time I Launch at
Every time I Launch at Woodies I pull my ashtray out and leave it in plan sight on the dash, open the empty glove box and make sure there is nothing in the car. I have friend that leave their windows down.
Its a huge problem there, that's evident by the masses of broken glass, a massive pain in the ass.

Park opposite the shop
Park opposite the shop maybe, out of the way of traffic and shop parkers,,, but the Power boat clubbies will have a good view and crims might not risk it.
Off course night times a different story, the crims control the area.
Rockingham council just got $150,000 grant from the crime prevention mob for some cameras,,hopefully Woodies will to.
For Pt Peron uses park near the sea rescue mobs building,,its the safest

Push your politicians people.......
1st offence of stealing..... cut off a finger
2nd offence of stealing .... cut off a thumb
3rd offence of setaling..... cut off their hand.
This way as a general rule, anyone you see with a missing finger , thumb or hand is dodgy. Public shaming. (Plus they will have lots of trouble wiping their arse)
Stealing and crime will dissipate immediately.
Push your politicians for harsher penalties people, cos god knows we cant touch em at the moment.

It would be nice to catch
It would be nice to catch the little pricks in action..... just once..
If you fish the area on a regular basis, definitely worth looking at a membership with the Cockburn Power Boats Assoc.
For the cost of the membership, it's definitely worth it !!
Vehicle safety, no ramp rage, good facilities, no hassles, peace of mind.... no repair costs or insurance excesses !!

A full membership costs $320
A full membership costs $320 per year.
A once off nomination fee of $320 is also payable when you submit your application for membership.
Spewin tho... these prices have risen a fair bit this year
But still beats all the hassles and bullshit you get at public ramps
Memberships numbers are capped and a waiting list is in place.
But as members no longer renew, those on the waiting list move on up..

already a member
Hi Roberta..
I've been a member for just over 2 years...
As soon as I bought the boat, the application form went in
I had to use the public ramp for about 3 months before getting in and dreaded every time I came back in.... queuing, ramp rage... then walking up to the car wondering what damage might be in store... luckily never had a problem !
Figured $250 a year was money well spent rather than $250 per claim and the associated headaches !
Fish today.....work tomorrow !

think the answer here is to just watch out for each other, take note of whos around that doesnt look right, go up to them and ask there name, they will tell you to fuck off or stumble in to telling you.. either way you'll know.

unfortunatly had same thing
unfortunatly had same thing happen to me but i was around at the point not near the groin middle of the day was there with future F-I-L trying to do the right thing and ask him for his dtr's hand in marage before i preposed to her. I had way to much gear in the car all neatly packed up in bags and rod tubes ( was passing some of my older gear onto him) and bastads stole it all including first aid kit and wet weather gear by the time i finished filling out police report (prints turned up nothing) i was up to over 3k worth of gear and didnt have home insurance only full car and found out nothing in the car is cover by car insurance and just home and contents insurance covers all that. Nearly gave fishing away as it was 2nd time in 2 yrs id had all my gear stolen (first time from the garage) and still havent managed to replace all that was taken as saving for wedding later this yr.
