I know how you feel
Things are getting quite a few people really seriously upset down here (Mandurah) with the pot pinching and raiding of catches and it is not even Easter yet. Whilst we all moan that we would like to catch the scum and teach them a lesson most of it is words by upset fishos', but now I have heard some seriously upset people make statements about what they will do if they come across anyone pulling their pots or with gear that isn't there's.
Threats of tracing boat owners down and lighting up boats in drive ways is pretty serious stuff in my opinion.
If it is a member of this site (and I'm hoping not) you are in serious danger, be advised.

hey nackers just a query
hey nackers
just a query mate, are you sure they where stolen , ?? it may be so but there has
been some big swells over the last few weeks, if they where not heavy or not soaked well , you might have had em go into robbies reef area mate ,
ive had pots in that area years back , pretty heavy ground up of robbies reef /junipers, easy to lose gear , they will walk a fair way if there not heavy , lots of guys think their gear is heavy , but this time of year , the ground swell /surge into autuum , is heavy , catched blokes out , we have seen a few lose gear this last month the same way . walk in to the shallows with not enough weight in em
just asking that's all mate
we are in further south and its been heavy going in less than 10 metres for damage for some guys as well as getting pots stuck or lost , having your gear id is a good start to stop theft ,
weeed around the ropes lately has been huge , it can help them walk or bust off at the bridle maybe as well

the problem lies with fisheries , when was the last time they pinged any one for pulling pots not belonging to them , another thing they haven't gone after Simon Peterffry even though he was pictured in the west Australian dumping a drum line on cotty beach (will be asking questions about that with the fisheries minister )

FYI
Peter - a chap got handed a pretty decent dollar slap for manhandling Pro-crab pots in mandurah not long ago.
I think they try, but its a pretty damn huge area to fully cover.

Right there with ya mate. I
Right there with ya mate. I had one flogged from cowaramup bay mid Jan. Since then I engraved the shit out of them, but I'm sure that won't stop them.
Not good when I just dropped a couple back in the bay Sunday. I might be lucky if they are still there when check them next time.

I was on the back of Garden
I was on the back of Garden Island on Sunday. There must have been 30-50 floats either still whole, or smashed, up and parts of craypots strewn for about 300m of beach. makes me wonder how many get stolen as opposed to how many get smashed apart.
