Stock Piling of Crays vs Fish

I'm gonna cop some heat for this i'm sure and well if it's within the rules then so be it but i have read a number of threads over the summer about people heading out most days they can for the past few months and doing really well on the crays, they are obeying all the rules and sticking to thier limits but how is this different to fish possesion limit.

The rules are very clear with fillets of fish, the rules are there for all to see, do i agree with most of them, yeah no probs i guess i don't like the 20kg limit especially if you do well with say Mackerel i think this should change to 15kg of demersal fillets and no limit on Pelagic species fillets.

Anyway with such great management going into the Rock lobster fisheries it amazes me there isn't a possesion limit on crays? from what i've read and heard from down that way it's been a ripper season but we don't bat an eye lid to people loading up on crays in the freezer but go nuts about people getting over thier 20kg limit of fish?

Thoughts? constructive items only and as above if it's within the rules then good luck to you, you've sussed them out and have a freezer full of tasty treats for the next few months.

Sorry Adam if this starts a shit fight, shut it down if it does mate.

Have a look at this

Have a look at this link Brucesta

http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/Species/Rock-Lobster/Pages/Lobster-Recreational-Fishing.aspx

I don't chase crays myself, but understand this to mean you can't be in possession of more than 24 in total, including what is in the freezer.

Please someone correct me if I've misunderstood the link.

Cheers.

Correct. Though if you had 2

Correct. Though if you had 2 people living at the residence you can have 24 crays per person if the crays are marked with the owners details as per the regs.

That clears up a few

That clears up a few questions for me. I was just looking on the state rules and i'm naive to the rules for Western Rock Lobsters considering my location.

Cheers lads

same for fish & crays, i can have 24 crays & 20kg of fish in my possession, my missus can have the same as can her sisster that lives with us. totaling 72 crays & 60kg of fillets, all must be marked with names to identify whos is what. I seriously doubt we could eat all that before it went bad for being frozen to long but.
