Stradic or Quantum Cabo
Submitted by tuxs on Mon, 2015-02-16 17:06
hey guys,
I know this topic has been hammered but just looking for some advice.
purchasing a new rod n reel combo for lure chucking off the cliff at falsies (anual trip in march), pretty much decided on the Shimano t-curve revolution 902h but cant make up my mind on the reel to match. local supplier has suggested a Quantum Cabo 60 or Stradic 8000, wondering what everyones thoughts might be??
Cheers

Stradic
Stradic FJ's are great. I purchased one a while ago and it is by far the best value reel I have brought. No problems with it and even though it's a 5k it can still stop big fish. Max

Mate I don't think you can't
Mate I don't think you can't go wrong with either. Check out Alan Hawks page where he's done reviews on both, and both figure in his best lists (although the cabos reviewed are the 100/120). I've got a 2500 and a 5000 stradic and for the money they are excellent reels.

Stradic
I have 2 stradic 8000 and found them excellent reels. Use them up a quobba. Only issue was line capacity (300mtrs 30lb Braid), nearly got spooled a couple of times so upgraded to Diawa Saltist 6500 which almost double line capacity and higher retreve rate 6.2:1. A bit heavier but has stopped a lot of big fish of the rocks. use it with Shimano Starlo Classic 1002.
