SWITCHING OFF SOUNDER

WAS TALKING TO AN OLD TIME FISHERMAN THIS MORNING AND HE SAYS SHOULD TURN OFF SOUNDER WHEN GETTING TO MARK OR WHEN FISH LOCATED AS HE BELIEVES SOUNDER SPOOKS FISH AND HIS CATCH RATE IS ALWAYS BETTER WHEN HE DOES THIS, IS HE PULLING MY LEG OR IS THIS THE CASE. WHAT DO OTHERS THINK ? I COULD CERTANLY DO WITH SOME HELP AS ONLY MANAGED TO CATCH UNDERSIZE DHU & SNAPPER THIS LAST YEAR. IF THIS IS THE CONSENSOUS, AS I HAVE A COMBO LOURANCE UNIT WOULD THE SOUNDER STILL TRANSMIT WHEN ON GPS.

IF I WAS YOU I WOULD THROW ALL THE ELECTRONICS AND THE OUT BOARD OVER THE SIDE AND BUY A SET OF OARS, THEN YOU CAN SNEEK UP ON THE SNEEKY LITTLE BUGGERS. LOL.

Sam it aint your sounder mate persistence and expierience on the water will catch you fish you just have to believe.

We were drifting over a lump

Sat, 2016-10-22 20:24

We were drifting over a lump last Wed and we were about to head back around but I glanced at the sounder and mentioned that it'd be worth dropping back down again. Bang, 65cm dhu. Might be different for anchoring up but we always have the sounder running as once you hit sand it's time to pull up and head back around.

Some fish

Some fish love a lot of noise, I find the snapper in the sound prefer Metalica blasted through the hull and out on the bank a bit of Black Sabbath does the trick for Dhu's .
