Sydney International Boat Show

For the last 2weeks, I've been over in Sydney with work, and as today was finally a day off, I went down to the Sydney International Boat Show in Darling Harbour for a bo-peep.

Comparing it to the Perth show, my first impression was bloody hell theres a lot of people here!! In any of the 6 pavillions it was a struggle to walk down the aisles. There may be talk of another economic slow-down but obviously us boaties/fishos still want to spend and enjoy the hobby. There were many sellers with fishing gear for sale, and the appeared to be doing a roaring trade on low end gear.

Saw stella sw's on sale for the following prices:

10000 $900,  8000 $850,  5000 $750, 1000 $540.

Solas (the propeller people) had an interesting stand with their wizard tackle range, and also had Japanese suppliers out  for the Miya Epoch electric reels. They even had one of the electric reels completely submerged in a fish tank to show they work underwater. Had 8 models on display, with a CX8S combo incl fully rollered game rod with rollered swival tip & extra bent butt, yamashita shock absorber, S/steel safety strap, Completely loaded with Japanese braid of your b/s choice, 300lb deep water terminal rig kit to make 5 rigs c/w crimpers, plus a few  extra bits n bobs for $2280. As I've never looked into these electric reels, I dont know if this deal is any good or not, but thought I'd list it here for interest sake as I know some F/W members are into these electric reels.

Spent many hours looking through the floating palaces on the water, and found the pick of the bunch I reckon:

Its a Formula Cruiser, Icon 54. Magnificently appointed vessel, and this one has been outfitted to the owners Big game requirements.  I didn't have 2.1mill in my pocket, so I carefully wiped up my drool, and silently moped away!

All in all, a great way to spend the day, considering I couldnt go fishing ova here! (And the weathers been bloody fantastic for fishing this last week over here!!)

Cheers.

Browny.
