Targetting Perth Metro Makos
Submitted by Dopolo on Wed, 2014-10-15 11:09
Interested in knowing if many anglers target makos out of perth metro.
Being from victoria makos were in reasonable numbers during summer months when arrow squid and coota were around.
Wondering if there are any mako numbers in wa, how people target them and what to look for as I havent seen arrow squid or coota around these waters

Makos
Plenty get caught while out deep chasing bottom fish so your in with a good chance of finding them.
Arrow squid are around and have seen some big ones caught on rod and line while chasing Dhu in 90m +
Im sure if you use the same techniques as in Vic at the trench you will get them as well as Blue sharks and even Threshers.

.
Occasionally you do hear of them landing on a boat, one happened quite a few years ago down Bunbury way that I can remember.
