Taxidermy or fish reproduction

Hey

Anyone ever looked into getitng caught fish reproduced or mounted? They seem to do quite a good job, Might be a nice idea, apparently all they need is a photo and the length and girth to recreate a model of the fish.

Curious to know of the costs of a decent sized fish like a billfish etc.

Have a good one,

Kane

All I know is taxidermy certainly isn't cheap!  Think its something between 3-5 grand for a billfish head, but I'm not too sure on that.

Hi Kane

they are nice if you can get one, I got one for a present many years ago now, the one I have is a side mount of a blue marlin, approx 2.5meters long, looks lovely in the home office, and it still looks new, I hate to know what thats worth Smile

Might have to settle for nice photos on the wall, taxidermy would only be an option if the fish wouldnt release properly and was going to go to waste....
