Is there a trick to rigging soft plastics ?

So far ive done 21 stickbaits 1 seemed to work. Most end up pointing down on an angle or up,or the rubber is pushing the hook off center.
I line it up beside bait to start with, then pinch head between fingers an feed hook through the head till it bends round, after which i push the tip through.

Here are some tips:
1. First, line the jighead up with the plastic as it would look if it was inside.
2. Where the hook would come out, tear a small mark with the barb of the hook as a guide.
3. Feed the plastic on as straight as possible and pop the barb out at that mark you made.
Tada!,
