Best charter in Broome is Absoloute Ocean Charters. Cant go past picking up a cold 6 pack from the divers tavern bottle shop, and driving up cable beach a few Kms, and foldng out the deck chair!

Broome

Mon, 2011-10-31 09:05

Was there a few weeks ago and had a walk out on the jetty at the Wharf. Man was I spitting chips I didn't have rod with me!! Saw a nice mackie just cruising up and down and a young bloke at the end had picked up a bloody nice trev. The squid at the wharf restaurant is about the best I've ever had too.

A bucket of prawns and a bottle of good white on sunset at the cable beach bar (the one that over looks the beach) is sensational.

I didn't manage to get out with them (definately next time) but I have heard that many great reports about Absolute Ocean Charters - seen some pics of reds that were bloody huge.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Tue, 2011-11-01 11:03

have to agree with all of the above, fantastic.  People say there is nothing to do in Broome, well all I can say is they must lead one hell of a dull life.

The wharf resturant was great, good food and I would have loved to have walked the jetty.  Saw some good fish being caught.

We were lucky had friends to stay with, had a ball and Graunthan point on low tide everybody with their dogs all getting on and enjoying a coldie with a nice meal that they have brought brilliant.  Love Broome wish we had the the money to buy a nice house there.

Linneys

Oh yeah, some of the local south sea pearl jewellery in Linneys is brilliant. Very pricey but since I didn't take the mrs I had to hurt the wallet a bit and bring her back something nice.

The Roey on a Thursday night

Tue, 2011-11-01 13:09

The Roey on a Thursday night for the wet T-Shirt comp, someone had to say it now it's back on again. The mango place for a pizza and other products, drive along cable beach and enjoy the sunset, hed up the coast and check out willy creek, quandong point and JPP, nice places at high tide. The jetty for a fish or to eat fish.

The sailfish will be a little quiet now i'd reckon but it is the start of the build-up and the barra may be on the chew if you can handle the heat in the creeks. Eco beach and thier fishing safari is worth a look

X3 for divers

Try the divers ribs, awsome!!! And Matsos for a Mango Beer and Ginger Beer. And the wharf with some whipper snipper cord. Willys creek is pretty nice. The Malcom Douglas Wilderness Park just out of town is quite impressive if you can time the feeding shows. And the Wet T-shirt comp goes without saying.

thanks for all the

thanks for all the suggestions

had a good time up there.

went out on AOC with mick the skipper. highly recommended , we did it tough but a few nice fish were caught inc estuary cod , coral trout , emperor , spanish flag by the dozen , sadddletail , golden trevs.   tuna busting up everywhere.

also got out with greg  on kimberly kayak fishing trip with the missus in a 2 seater.   lots of fun and covered some ground.   all around the jetty with bust ups going on all round.  lots of action , but nothing seemed to like the lures. changed lures , but same story.

other highlights inc roebuck bay for the birdlife (feathered) with many birds of prey as well as the shorebirds. the campsite even had a bower bird nest behind one of the pitches .

willie creek pearls was a fantastic tour

wharf restaurant was great if not a little pricey.   best fish and chips ever though.

broome broome for car rental and   bali hai for accomodation.

did buy a handline and fished jetty , but caught nothing but tiny cod.  could have gotten away with a 2lb handline. lol

did need the handline however for barred creek , it screamed barra.

coconut wells beach was lovely too.

the fish are damned tasty up there.   bloody lovely.
