Thumping King George

First forum post!
Caught this King George Whiting at the back of Garden Island couple of weeks ago in around 20m of water on size 10 Long Shank hook with some peeled prawn! on my Okuma 3000 Trio with 1-3kg Tairyo Spin Stick.
Was chasing the usual feed of good size sand whiting when this thumper slammed the bait. The length came in at 71cm didn't get a weight on him....
Plenty of Sand whiting after him and 2 Reasonable skippy at 50cm a piece.
Let me know your thoughts.

Starts with H and rhymes with morse
Bloody cracker of a kg mate. Welcome to the site. Normally new people sign up to learn more about fishing and techniques. Judging by the look of that kg you might be instructing a few lessons....haha
cheers

Did you get a measured photo by any chance, that would be a new fishwrecked record.

Didnt realise!
When I brought it back to the Cockburn Ramp I got brought back to the earth by the Old boy saying he has caught them 75cm+ often on whole gangs mulies so I didn't realise it could have been a record hence I didn't weigh it. I was too eager to get it in the pan....

That would be a cracker...
Our club record is 1.402kg and was only 58cm long. Strangely enough, going back through the records we did have one previously of 59.5cm that was 1.2kg
At 71cm, that one might have be close to 2kg.
Well done
