todays report

with the boss giving the go ahead for the day off me and two mates headed off two rocks in chase of dhuies and sambos while hoping to break my drought I have been going through lately. After taking off from the ramp and one of my deckies started peeeling a banana and eating it I wasnt feeling too confident. Since putting a new sounder in 2 months ago I thought it would be easier to catch fish but has been harder, today was a good way to break the bad luck.

after finding a new spot in the 40's I picked up a nice dhuie on an ima ro jig probly around the 6kg mark. Followed by an agressive little dhuie just under that hit my jig 6 times before I hooked it. soon after dave pulled up a nice dhu around similar size.

with our dhu limit reached we went to the sambo spot where we jigged up sambos for the next 3 hours with triple hook up's every drift. no monsters with most around the sub 10kg mark. the whales put ona nice show for us about 100m from the boat. also caught a gold spot trevally which surprised us! with the last drift called we did it in stlye with another triple hook up and with my brother dean pulling up a horse and his pb sambo as a rough guess around the low to mid 20's.

all up was a great day on the water with a lot of hi 5's all around.

thanks for reading
