Towing Mirror Recommendations for Prado
Submitted by trueblue_10 on Fri, 2013-09-13 13:07
Hi all
I have a 120 series Toyota Prado and need a strap on towing mirror to tow my 6.10 ally boat on occasions from Perth to Exmouth etc. Any recommendations on ones that will not damage the paint or door?
Also where the best place to buy these in perth.
Regards

Milenco Mirrrors
Decided on Milenco Mirrors.
These mirrors just clamp to the top of the mirror housing just like the video. I had my reservations at first for my Prado 120 series but read some good reports on them from people who had used the Ora brand and the Aussie Truck mirrors in the past. They do not require straps etc. I Really like the idea of not using straps and magnetic strips etc which can potentially cause damage.
I brought mine for $129 (a pair) in WA which is pretty good for only part time use such a boat etc. They look pretty good and solid. Here are some links to them. There have been others who are using and the reports are good. Some report a small vibration but similar to other good mirror types.

Report on Milenco Mirror Performance
Used the Milenco Mirrors from Victoria to Perth to tow back a boat. Towed though some shocking winds in Vic then across the Nullarbor and passed many trucks.
These mirrors did not move and were excellent and easy to fit. No straps etc and they are made well with good aerodynamic shape these are especially good if you do not want to go the strap system and what something that is easy and quick to fit.
Like above mentioned reports they have a small shake but it was not bad at all. In fact I watched my prado mirrors and they shake a bit so anything bolted onto them with a bit of length out the side will also shake.
Highly recommend these mirror and saw a number of these on the trip on other vehicles towing vans.
