Hey guys thinking about putting some trim tabs on my 6m gold star anyone have any thoughts on which way to go electric/hydraulic? any info would be a help cheers
I have electric lencos and have rebuilt them a few times due to water ingress. They work well but have a serious design flaw in that a vacuum is created when the trom tan is extended and this will inevitably draw in water with even minor seal wear.
Hydraulic will no doubt be better, probably more expensive though?
By the way, I would never have another boat without trim tabs, the are great, both for lean correction and more so being able to tuck the nose down which transforms ride quality into chop.
