Trout

So despite the rain, we took the kids camping at lake brockman over the weekend. Beautiful spot.
rigged the kids up with a float and small hook so they weren't getting snagged constantly (their casting isn't quite good enough for lures yet) and they did well on some little rainbows, managing 4 between them which we released. I whacked on a spinner like I used to use as a kid, and caught 2 rainbows, one of which was decent, and a good brown. I had forgotten how good they fight! We kept the brown for dinner. Just some lemon, butter, salt and baked in al foil and turned out beautiful. There was a bunch of us camping so got demolished. Unfortunately too windy to crack out the fly rod, but I am dead keen to head back.

 That's a good haul.

Under rated spot for Trout but the ski boats see to that.
