Two Rocks LB Report 26/11/2013
Hi all,
Took the long drive up to Two Rocks this morning, up at 3am. Fished the stretch between Club Cap & The Lookout. Conditions were pretty much perfect. We arrived on sun-up with a light SSW breeze. Beaches were in pretty good nick, there was a little weed in the water but nothing to stop you getting a line in. Water clarity was very good, a little stirred up in patches particularly around some of the reef.
Made plenty of mistakes, which I can only put down to lack of sleep. Started the morning throwing poppers over the reef, instead of fishing the beach. After losing a couple of lures we moved up onto the beach and swapped to bait, but dropped ourselves in an unlikely spot. There was a nice spit another 100m up the beach with some deeper water around it. Sure enough the blokes fishing there pulled in a few decent tailor in quick succession, while we lucked out struggling to hold bottom in the surf.
Finally made the move to the other side of the spit. Within a few minutes my mate was on. He dropped his first two and landed the third - would have gone a little under 40cm, but nice and fat. I only had the one hit and was not paying attention, so missed it....
Things went dead soon after. No signs of any pickers, but with the rising tide I reckon that spot will be coming to life again about now....left about 9:30am with an empty esky, but at least my buddy got a feed! Definitely a great stretch of coast - I'll be heading back up there soon and won't be lazy when it comes to reading the beach haha!
Stopped by Mindarie on the way home as I had never been up there before. Also had a look around Jindalee. The water around Jindalee was pretty green and stirred up. A lot of weed on the beaches in Mindarie but also some big stretches of crystal clear water. Had a flick around and the sand whiting were on the bite...by that time though I couldn't be stuffed putting in the effort of catching enough for a feed!
Anyone thinking of hitting up Yanchep/Two Rocks beaches for a fish at the moment, go for it - conditions are good.
Cheers,
Buschy

cheers for the report mate.
cheers for the report mate. hitting up the bakery at two rocks or the cafe at the lagoon is a good way to end a session up there if ya catch nothing. At least your guaranteed a feed ;)
