How did it shit itself , there usually pretty good rods , also it does have a warranty maybe give a tackle store a ring to find out who to contact for a warranty claim.
I jig with an Ugly stick , havn't had a problem with mine ( but it's a Black Tiger )
I've fished with ugly stiks for many a year and have pretty much only good things to say about them. Having said that mine are used to run mono not braid.
