Under rib rubber replacement

Hi folks, first time boat owner and inherited an old tinny from a family friend, suspect it might be an old 1979 14" Quintrex Fishabout Mk2 with an '82 60hp Johnson on the back.
Currently stripping her down and trying to give her a bit of a makeover, but I've noticed there's some old hardened rubber strips wedged between the ribs and hull, was thinking of taking it all to replace so I can give everything a really good clean and find any hidden salt traps.
Does anyone know what type of rubber I should replace it with and where I could get it? Or should I just leave the old stuff alone?

Getting it out and back in
Getting it out and back in wil be the issue, I could just about guarantee there will be salt pitting underneath.

Just trying to figure out if
Just trying to figure out if I should get rid of the rubber since I've already removed everything else before it's off to the blasters next week to strip the inside and outside. It doesn't seem like the hull is connected directed to the ribs in many points.
Then I'm hoping to find an ali welder who can fit me in to fix any issues that show up once the paint is off and sort out a few mods (swim platform + dive ladder, internal bracing for new floors, bow roller, reinforce bow for anchor winch).

Pull it out if you can. If
Pull it out if you can. If there's major pitting there's an epoxy product specifically for that.
I can do the mods, but depends on when as pretty flat out at the moment.
