Christened the new Evapac cryavac machine from Compleat angler Nedlands with some baldy fillets. Worked a treat!

Sounder pics
What are we looking at with the sounder pics, what did you catch on the real good looking structure.
Have you had a look at the first picture of the baldies, if you look at the knife it looks like it has been on the bottom of the ocean for the last 100 odd years. I guess it's some thing to do with a filter or what ever. LOL

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

You can tune out the noise
You can tune out the noise on the top of your screen mate. I for get what it was but if you read your manual it shows little pics of it! Also if your range is set a bit closer (40m) then use your shift to scroll down. you'll get a better pic and see indavidual fish better
Any one free to help me pull my drum lines tomorrow?

when the range is set so you
when the range is set so you can see the second echo, its also easier to smaller changes in the bottom hardness.
If you look at his 2nd echo at the left of screen almost no red, then more and more until the fish show-baldies like hard bottom.
Some crayfishermen use this a bit when looking for harder bottom for crays.
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Cheers for the advice
Cheers for the advice fellas, still playing around trying to get it right. Reece, I've just been using gain to filter out that top noise? Adjusting it depending on whether drifting or underway. I'll def look into adjusting range so I'm just looking at the bottom 20m or so.
Was a pretty quiet day, caught nothing in the 40m shots although we've pulled plenty of solid dhu's from this area. Baldies came from the 30's
