Vacuum Oil Extractor
Had a mobile mechanic come around and do a mobile service on my outboard several years ago in Onslow, he had a vacuum oil extractor for removing the sump oil. It was bloody brilliant and he was selling them as well, but he wanted $300 for one.
Anyway I didn't buy one but about six weeks ago I needed to service the quad so I thought I might tried and find one online.
I ended up getting one from West Marine in the US, it was on special and after postage it cost me $161 AU. They do have a smaller version (2.5L) but I got the larger 6.5L model.
Just gave it the test run on the quad, and I'll be doing the 150hp yamaha outboard next weekend. Too easy.
Good thing is the oil is all contained in the pump reservoir and can then be poured straight from the reservoir into a waste container, no mess and very quick.
Here's a few pics for those who may be interested.

they are very handy, but just
they are very handy, but just be sure you are getting all the oil out as the dipstick hole is not necessarliy the deepest point of the sump.
The other thing is that if you dont remove the sump plug you wont see any filings on the magnet (if fitted)
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

We have them at work, can buy
We have them at work, can buy them from repco and covs etc, I have one that uses the compressed air so I dont have to pump it all the time
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

handy for sure.
personally I like getting the eng oil hot and dumping it straight out the sump. I just reckon its a better way to remove any sludge if its there.
I like the pumps though. Great for oil in the bilge.
And $300!! bit steep! pick them up from yachtgrot in freo for 160 too.
