Kiwis do some mad beach launching.
Which is why they do so many small plateys. Advantage disappears when you have a good ramp. That would be the most extreme version I have seen, so many ways to kill a bloke, right from where old mate is between the boat and the back of the ute in the surge, trying to unhook. I'll bet they are doing their impellers pretty regularly, running them dry like that. A fairly clever setup, kiwi ingenuity ( trying pronouncing that word in kiwi ), but you can't help but wonder if a trailer and tractor wouldn't be better? I guess if you have an old 80 series lying around, won't pass the WOF any more, go for it! Nice pinks, BTW.

Yep, that is extreme!
How high do you reckon the centre of gravity of that rig is? A bit dicey I'd reckon, but full marks!

Yep Pete you'd be somehow wanting to get some weight low wouldn't you.
Perhaps they fill the tyres with water?
Wouldn't add much but perhaps 200kg on the ground.
