Submitted by wade stenhouse on Tue, 2013-06-18 17:30
hey guys I recently acquired a new navman vhf for free, its been sitting in its box for a few years.
now ive installed it in my boat and found that it doesn't work, it doesn't even power up and yes it is wired up properly.
before I go out and buy a new one, is there anyone in perth who services or repairs marine radios
cheers for any help

Have you checked the fuse?
Probably a fuse in the line or in the unit itself somewhere. Worth double checking that before taking more drastic measures.

The sad truth is they are
The sad truth is they are often not economical to repair. By the time you factor a couple of hours labour and parts you can often surpass the price of a new unit.
