Wedge Island 3/8
Hey guys, just a quick report on an overnight last weekend. The conditions were unreal - 23, sunny and little breeze. Not bad for the middle of winter, right?
Camped (fished...) overnight several kays up the beach, and found a beautiful gutter adjacent to some reef. Managed a bunch of whiting, dart and herring (one was huge), a decent flattie and a skippy of around 30cm. Pulled in two reasonable tailor just after dusk, and missed several more, before they shut down quickly. Had a whole herring out which got a massive run around 9pm and just came back with the tail... I was sure to convince the guys it was a massive mulloway ;-) Also just before lights out pulled in a nice little wobbegong around 1m.
The weeds situation on saturday was good.. some spots were a bit weedy but plenty of clear areas. Sunday has weeded up considerably - I'm not sure if it was just the high tide dragging it off the beach or not.
Cheers

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.
