This weeks deep drop

After months of waiting for the weather to be fine and lining up with a day available to sneak off of work Tuesday was the day, we headed out started in the 200s catching a few nanny but was real quiet moved spots a few times then got onto the nannys and got out quota, then it glassed off even more and we decided to test the 585 out in deeper water went to around 400-450 and decided to drop on what we thought were fish on sounder, after waiting forever to hit the bottom almost instantly we were on, then the windup started!, what popped up was amazing double header blue eye! We had never got these before and was a huge shock to all of us the other 2 boats were stunned! As you can imagine they all followed me back for the second drift to get on the spot we ended up with 8 blue eye and 3 bass groper between the 3 boats the last coming in on ours was a 36kg bass groper!! All blue eye were from 12kg -22kg absolute unreal day and now we have a spot for the serious fish in the deep deep water

a big thanks to harro off here for helping out with sounder settings I sat there and played with it heaps learning plenty in the deep water

also before I get jumped on I wasn't fishing in the west coast zone....

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
