wet boxing does not shoot through aluminium hull, it's replaced (the hull) with bait board. And the box that holds glycol/transducer is inside the hull
No, y would it be? There are 2 more sealed compartments in the wet box before salt water can get into the hull! Wet facing is more to worry about as its only the transducer face stopping water coming in, with wet box you've got bait board then transducer face recessed in alloy then another compartment on top of that as well to seal the cable! If done proper
yep, ya can't shoot through alloy. It's the same as a wet face setup except recessed in the hull with the transducer shooting through glycol and bait board. With anothr seal on top for cable
Wouldn't a low profile bronze through hull be a less intrusive solution? If you were really really worried about the wet face being compromised you could carry a rubber bung to seal the hole if there was a complete failure.

Rubber bung the size of a tractor tyre maybe. I think there is a 2 and 3kw transducer hiding behind there.....
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

You can't get a through hull
You can't get a through hull transducer bigger then 1KW, where as you can get in hulls up to 3kw. Well worth the time setting up.
