Whales

Hi All,
Thinking of taking the Mother in Law out to see a whale tomorrow. Looking for advice on if there are there many around at the moment? The best places where they seem to be in higher frequency? eg. North or south of Rotto, 30 m mark, 40 m mark?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Plenty around down this way atm. Was out on Sunday and saw whales in the 20s out to the 40s. Was the closest I have come to hitting one - travelling at 22knots and having a whale come up for air 25m in front of the boat isn't what I would call fun. Awesome creatures, however I am happy not to see them when out fishing!

There’s plenty around
Spend a few hours driving around in 20-40m anywhere from West End all the way around the top to the Windmills and you should see some.
There are also a few pods of orcas around at the moment, had a few around the boat two weekends ago.
